Application requirements of Otago Polytechnic

Diploma certificate (high school graduate or technical secondary school): IELTS score of 5.5 (no sub-score less than 5.0)

Undergraduate students (high school graduates or technical secondary school graduates): IELTS score of 6.0 (no sub-score less than 6.0)

Postgraduate diploma (regular 4-year undergraduate graduation, bachelor’s degree or completion of postgraduate preparatory studies): IELTS score of 6.5 (no single sub-score less than 6.0), some specific majors require a score of 7.0

English requirements: Students without an IELTS score (at least 5.5) are required to take English courses. English courses are divided into 4 levels of 10 weeks each. Entrance tests are conducted when students enter the school and students are assigned to different levels of class study.
